Q.  Can you help me speed up the process of getting estimates and repairing my vehicle?

A.  Yes we can. First, don’t waste your time running around getting estimates. It is extremely rare that an insurance company would even look at an estimate that you furnished them from a shop they did not ask you to visit. Randomly seeking estimates without being directed to do so is a waste of your time. Simply take the vehicle to the shop of your choice, tell them which insurance company will be paying for the repairs, and follow their advice from that point. They will know whether you need an estimate or not. 

Q.  The insurance company directed me to take my car to a shop I know nothing about. If I refuse to use their choice will it cause me problems?

A.  Absolutely not! In every case; with every insurance company; the choice of which shop repairs your vehicle is yours and yours alone to make. Certainly most insurance companies have shops that give them financial considerations or other incentives to have work directed to them. Some insurance representatives can be a little pushy if you resist their directions, but once you state the shop of your choice, industry ethics require them to drop the subject and accommodate your request. If they persist, remind them of that ethic and stand your ground. 

Q.  Do you have relationships with any insurance companies?

A.  We have a select few; our requirements to enter into a special relationship with an insurance company are that the insurance company must be nationally known as a superb organization.  

Q.  Will your estimate be higher than another shops estimate, or higher than the insurance companies own appraisal?

A.   All shops use a software program to write estimates. The prices should never be significantly different unless the person writing the lower estimate overlooked something. Covert Collision has been in business over 100 years. Our estimate may be a little higher because our experienced appraisers usually find all the hidden damage that a lesser experienced estimator might miss. If there is a difference, we show the insurance company what we have found that the other shops have overlooked. There is no problem arriving at an agreed price. 

Q.  What is your warranty on body work?

A.   Lifetime as long as you own the vehicle. After 100 plus years in business you can be sure we will be here to provide that warranty. You might also want to check our online customer reviews. No shop in Texas has more positive responses than Covert. 

Q.   I have rental coverage. Can you have a vehicle ready when I drop off my car?

A.   Yes. Enterprise Rent-a-Car is just two blocks away. They meet you in our office. 

Q.  Do you arrange towing?

A.  Yes and, if needed on a drivable car, we can arrange pick up and delivery. 

Q. What brands to you repair?

A.  We own several new vehicle dealerships including domestic brands such as Ford, Lincoln, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC.  However over 50% of the vehicles we repair are Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, Range Rover, Porsche, Audi, etc.  On any given day you will find our shop also repairing Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, and VW. We are I-Car Gold Certified to do it all.
