Austin Dent Repair
Dent Repair

While Covert Collision Center does offer paintless dent repair, there are many instances in which traditional dent repair is the right choice. In most cases, our Certified Technicians remove the body panels, tail lights, and all necessary interior and exterior trim to reach the backside of the dent. We use a variety of specialized tools that reveal the full extent of the dent, which allows our technicians to restore the damaged area to its original shape and contour.

When is traditional dent repair required? Typically, traditional dent repair techniques will be used when a dent is deep enough that the metalwork of your vehicle is significantly stretched, the body is punctured, or if the dent is in a spot that prevents the use of paintless dent repair tools. This type of repair is also appropriate when extensive paint damage from the impact exists, which includes chips or deep scratches. The crushed area is then pulled out little by little until the surface is level once again. Depending on the severity of the damage, this may require replacing the damaged areas entirely. Once our technicians achieve an ideal surface and have thoroughly repaired the affected area, a computerized paint-matching system matches your new paint exactly to the vehicle’s original color.

At Covert Collision Center, our team is passionate about our work. We are always training on new technology and refining our skills to provide consistent, high quality work, and dent repair and removal services are no exception. Being I-CAR Gold Class Certified, we can work on every make and model. This means that we are factory certified and preferred by many of the top manufacturers. Once your vehicle enters Covert Collision Center, our team is equipped to quickly assess any damage and identify the safest repair solution. It is our goal to create an invisible repair, and guarantee those results as long as you still own the vehicle.

PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR

Not all dents & dings require in-depth dent repair…which can be both costly and time consuming. If your vehicle has hail damage, door dings and other small dents that may be minor, the repair may not be as expensive as you think. With paintless dent repair, our certified body shop experts don’t touch the vehicle’s paint. This process is quicker, less costly, and is quite simple, in the grand scheme of things. The first step in paintless dent repair is for our technicians to access the back of the dent. This will allow the team to determine the proper tools needed for dent removal. Checking the back of the dent also allows the technician a view of both sides of the dent to know where to apply the pressure accordingly while manipulating the dent. The location of applied pressure is important because this is how you correctly restore the dent back to its previous shape, aligning the body part to the correct OEM specifications.

In some cases, our technicians will use fluorescent light boards to create shadows on the damaged area. This helps our technicians in navigating the damaged areas and manipulating the dent so it’s correctly repaired the first time. The technician will start around the exterior of the dent and carefully work towards the center of the damage. This will eliminate over-correction, which can cause the body panel to bulge further than originally intended and will slowly minimize the dent until it eventually disappears.

Beyond being I-Car Gold Class certified, Covert Collision Center is certified by brands like Tesla, Cadillac, Ford, Lincoln, Chevrolet, GM, Hyundai, Buick, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Nissan, and more.
